"Final Mission"

My Great Uncle, Harold H. Humm was a ball turret gunner aboard a B-17G Flying Fortress named "Sleepy Time Gal" (Serial #42-102527 91st BG 322nd Squadron) during WWII & stationed out of Bassingbourn, England. On June 21st 1944 he was KIA after his aircraft caught fire & exploded.

According to the Mission Remarks, 3 B-17's were lost within a 6 minute time frame and between 09:32 & 09:38 hours.

Dedicated to all those bomber crew members lost on this, their final mission.

This cockpit is of "Sentimental Journey" a B-17G operated by the Commemorative Air Force and Airbase Arizona in Mesa, AZ.
